Saskia Besiakov

Goldsmith and Jewellery Designer

Saskia Besiakov is a trained goldsmith who creates jewellery designed to last – both in terms of material and the meaning we imbue them with.

She works with precious materials such as gold, silver, gemstones, and pearls, and in her design, she strives to move beyond fleeting trends. Instead, her jewellery emerges from the intersection of an idea, the possibilities of the material, and skilled craftsmanship. Jewellery that can be worn for a long time, acquire new meanings throughout life, and perhaps one day be passed on.

Saskia's design language moves between the graphic, architectural, and musical. She often explores balance and imbalance – the harmony that must also contain something that disrupts it. Therefore, her jewellery possesses simplicity, edge, playfulness, and subtle whimsical details.

Saskia completed her goldsmith apprenticeship in 2014 and received her journeyman's certificate with a medal for excellent craftsmanship. Since then, she has made a living from her profession, creating both her own unique pieces and personalised commissioned works. She also works with giving old gold new life and creating something new from materials that already carry a history.

For Efterliv Studio, Saskia has developed the bracelet Connection. A piece of jewellery created based on the relationship that does not disappear, even when a person dies. A small, tangible symbol of the person we still carry with us.
